Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and assist with the preparation and submission of initial medical claims to insurance companies.
- Ensure all billing information is accurate, complete, and submitted within required timeframes.
- Gain familiarity with insurance guidelines, claim formats, and electronic billing systems.
- Identify and resolve basic billing errors or missing information under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Track the status of submitted claims and assist in follow-up activities.
- Maintain documentation and records in compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Collaborate with other departments, such as coding and registration, to ensure billing accuracy.
- Attend training sessions and actively participate in ongoing learning and development.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus).
- Interest in healthcare billing, finance, or medical administration.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow established procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CBCS) is an advantage.
- Previous internship or administrative experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
