Experience - Minimum 2-3 yrs

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-operative Duties:

Prepare the operating theater with necessary instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.

Check functionality of surgical instruments and devices (suction, lights, cautery, anesthesia machines, etc.).

Verify patient identity, consent, and surgical site.

Assist in positioning the patient appropriately (especially for obstetric surgeries).

Ensure strict aseptic techniques are followed.

Intra-operative Duties:

Serve as a scrub nurse or circulating nurse, as assigned.

Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during the procedure.

Monitor and document patient vitals and responses in coordination with the anesthesia team.

Ensure proper count of sponges, instruments, and needles before, during, and after surgery.

Handle and label specimens correctly and ensure timely transfer to the lab.

Post-operative Duties:

Assist in transferring patients to the recovery room or postnatal ward.

Monitor the patient’s condition in the immediate post-operative period.

Report any complications or changes in patient status.

Provide appropriate post-op nursing care instructions.

Infection Control & Documentation:

Adhere to hospital infection prevention protocols at all times.

Participate in sterilization of instruments and disposal of biomedical waste as per standards.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procedures, instruments used, and nursing care delivered.

Team Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with obstetricians, anesthetists, pediatricians, and fellow nurses.

Support emergency C-section or obstetric procedures as needed, including on-call duties.

Train and mentor junior staff or nursing interns, when applicable.
