The Risk Officer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating internal and external risks to the organization. This role ensures that business operations comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, and that potential threats are proactively managed to protect assets, reputation, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, and document financial, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
- Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits across departments.
- Monitor risk exposure and report findings to senior management or the board.
- Collaborate with internal departments to improve controls and reduce risk.
- Assist in incident investigations and develop preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for risk committees or leadership.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CRM, CPA, ISO 31000) are a plus.
- Proven experience in risk management, compliance, audit, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of risk management software is an advantage.
