Job Description / Responsibilities

 Incumbent will be responsible for overall Purchase and Sourcing activities of the company.
 Ensure that purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets.
 Develop strategic plan to manage a commodity-based supplier platform and to achieve goals of quality, delivery, and cost improvement for both production and aftermarket requirements.
 Sourcing and Material Planning required at right cost, quantity & time and at optimum inventory levels.
 Proactively engage with Functional heads on a continuous basis to seek inputs with a perspective of supporting functional and business needs in a better way
 Implement cost reduction method
 Have good knowledge on Contracting / Order placement
 Have techno-Commercial knowledge of engineering products / GST / service charge etc.
 Develop contracts and manage win-win and healthy relationships with suppliers to provide a stable product supply, technical product knowledge and year-over-year cost reductions.
 Development of new suppliers, evaluating their credentials both technically as well as financially, negotiating rates as a cost saving initiatives and recommending to Management for final approval.
 Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders.
 Approval and Monitoring of all Price Increase or Decrease and update various internal stakeholders on the same.
 Evaluate and monitor performance of existing suppliers and to take corrective action as required to consolidate supply base to best performing suppliers.
 Control and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs, Create and implement best practice.
 Ensure the early involvement and participation of purchasing functions with teams for new product development, cost savings, inventory reduction, process improvement, etc. with committed On Time in full execution
 Ensure quality of parts and on time delivery received from the suppliers
 Use IT tools to fullest extent to improve competitiveness in buying and supply chain process, and should have exposure to purchase related ERP
 Develop and support a spirit of open communication, fairness and respect for the individual in all areas of operation

Qualification
 Bachelors Degree in Engg / other ( with MBA preferred but not mandatory)
 10+ years of experience in direct purchase.



Desired profile of the candidate

 Candidates with good exposure to procurement of Industrial equipment / accessories / spares / Raw Material / Consumables / Fasteners / Lubricants / Brought Out & Tooling with Commercial finalization are preferred
 Should have 10 - 12 yrs of experience in Purchase from a Heavy Fabrication / Sheet Metal industry with knowledge of entire gamut of SCM Dept.
 Strong oral and written communication skills
 Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
 Ability to work independently
 High energy, self-starter, with a proven track record in delivering results.
