Role: Oracle DBA
Required Technical Skill Set: Oracle 10g/11g databases, strong RAC/clustering experience, OEM, CDC, RMAN, Oracle Grid and Data Guard experience
Desired Experience Range: 4-8 years

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)
Must-Have**
Understand and apply advanced database administration, management and performance tuning techniques
Provide advanced technical troubleshooting for applications and database systems with emphasis on root cause analysis
Configure and tune hardware and software to insure optimum performance and resource utilization
Understand server clustering techniques and the impact on database configuration and performance
Develop advanced shell scripts, SQL and PL/SQL scripts in support of database operations
Manage Real Application Clusters (RAC)
High degree of skill with database commands and utilities such as exp, imp, SQL loader, expdp, impdp, etc.
Very good knowledge on Oracle memory structures, Backup & recovery Concepts, Performance Tuning, CDC, Grid Control, Data Guard and Oracle Network Concepts
Solid experience with the Unix operating system and command set as well as competence with shell scripting
Ability to write, debug and tune SQL and pl/SQL, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc.
Ability to work in fast paced, constantly changing environments and able to manage multiple environments
Very good communication skills and consistently high performer in meeting business needs
Good-to-Have
Hands-on, technically adept DBA, capable of performing required DB tasks
SQL performance tuning
Deep knowledge with Oracle 10g/11g databases, strong RAC/clustering experience, OEM, CDC, RMAN, Oracle Grid and Data Guard experience required.
Migrating the schemas using traditional exp/imp and Oracle Data pump utilities
Strong troubleshooting/performance tuning skills required. Must be able to improve SQL performance results through use of hints or outlines. Ability to diagnose problems and triage/resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server, or storage tiers).
Ability to implement automation to reduce manual administrative tasks through use of jobs, shell scripts, PL/SQL, cron job, or other techniques.
Must demonstrate proficiency in UNIX and be able to administer Oracle databases running in Solaris and RHEL.
High level experience with writing shell scripts
Very good understanding of how memory, CPU, Disks work on the UNIX environment
Oracle Recovery with Archiving, Oracle Export and Import Utilities
Demonstrate experience with backups, recovery, performance tuning and optimization on oracle OEM, stats pack, AWR experience needed
Experience of execution plans and how to use them to optimize/improve query costs and create new indexes
Monitoring database performance during application performance testing and recommending database changes
Experience backing up databases from one environment and restoring them in other database environments
Experience with upgrading oracle databases from oracle 10g to 11g.
Provides input regarding technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.
Implementation of security standards and roles
Deploy/ migrate code across multiple tiers
Implement migrations, upgrades, patches and service pack implementations
Provide user support by investigating issues/problems, enforcing standards, and answering inquiries
Handle additional responsibilities progressively.
