The MRO Order Management Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement, tracking, and timely delivery of Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) materials and spare parts. This role ensures seamless coordination between suppliers, maintenance teams, and internal stakeholders to support equipment uptime, minimize downtime, and maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Order Management & Procurement
- Process and manage MRO purchase orders (POs) for spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Ensure timely procurement of required materials while optimizing cost and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to confirm order accuracy, delivery schedules, and compliance with specifications.
2. Supplier Coordination & Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure quality service and prompt deliveries.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and lead times to achieve cost savings.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any supply chain disruptions.
3. Inventory & Logistics Management
- Track order statuses and ensure on-time deliveries for critical spare parts.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage and inventory control of MRO materials.
- Identify and address potential shortages, excess inventory, or obsolete parts.
4. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure that all MRO orders comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier communications.
- Generate reports on MRO spending, supplier performance, and order fulfillment rates.
5. Process Improvement & Cost Optimization
- Identify opportunities to streamline the MRO procurement process for efficiency.
- Assist in implementing best practices for cost reduction, waste minimization, and process automation.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve overall MRO management strategies.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in MRO procurement, order management, or supply chain roles in manufacturing, aviation, automotive, or related industries.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Strong knowledge of MRO procurement processes and inventory management.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) for order tracking and procurement.
- Understanding of engineering specifications and maintenance requirements for spare parts.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for supplier interactions.
