The Manager – Structural Design is responsible for leading structural engineering teams, overseeing the design and analysis of structures, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and coordinating with project stakeholders. This role requires expertise in structural analysis, material selection, and industry codes to deliver high-quality and cost-effective structural designs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Structural Design & Analysis:
- Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of structural systems for buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and other infrastructure projects.
- Ensure designs comply with IS, ACI, Eurocodes, AISC, and other relevant standards.
- Perform structural calculations, load analysis, and finite element modeling (FEM).
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials based on project requirements.
2. Project Management & Coordination:
- Oversee multiple structural design projects from concept to execution.
- Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, geotechnical engineers, and contractors to ensure design integration.
- Review and approve drawings, reports, and technical specifications.
- Address design changes, site challenges, and value engineering solutions.
3. Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers and draftsmen in structural design best practices.
- Conduct technical training sessions to enhance the team’s expertise.
- Ensure projects are completed within deadlines while maintaining quality.
4. Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Conduct structural integrity assessments and safety checks.
- Ensure all designs comply with local and international building codes and seismic design requirements.
- Participate in peer reviews, design audits, and risk assessments.
5. Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities for approvals.
- Provide technical support and design clarifications during construction.
- Prepare and present project reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred).
Experience:
- 8-15 years of experience in structural design and project management.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Tekla, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Strong understanding of RC (Reinforced Concrete) and Steel Structures.
- Knowledge of seismic, wind load, and foundation design principles.
Soft Skills:
