We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing mainframe applications, ensuring system reliability, and validating data integrity. They will work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that applications function correctly before deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Planning & Strategy: Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mainframe applications.
• Functional & Regression Testing: Perform manual and automated testing to validate software functionality and system performance.
• Batch Job Testing: Test batch jobs, job schedulers, and data processing workflows.
• Database Validation: Validate data consistency and accuracy in databases (e.g., DB2, VSAM, IMS).
• Defect Identification & Tracking: Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA, HP ALM, or similar.
• System Integration Testing: Validate the integration of mainframe applications with other enterprise systems.
• Performance Testing: Analyze and optimize the performance of mainframe applications under various loads.
• Compliance & Security Testing: Ensure that applications meet compliance and security standards.
• Collaboration: Work with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve application quality.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in mainframe testing.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and IMS.
• Experience with test management tools like HP ALM, JIRA, or Rally.
• Knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium, REXX, or Mainframe-based test automation frameworks (preferred).
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in banking, insurance, or financial domains.
• Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD for mainframe applications.
• Knowledge of cloud-based mainframe modernization trends.
