Role Summary:
As a Learning & Development Specialist focused on IT, you’ll design, deliver, and evaluate training programs tailored to the needs of developers, engineers, and technical professionals. You’ll work closely with department heads and subject matter experts (SMEs) to assess skill gaps, introduce upskilling initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess training and development needs across IT and technical teams
- Design and implement effective learning solutions (in-person, online, blended)
- Coordinate and facilitate technical training sessions, certifications, and workshops
- Partner with external training vendors or platforms as needed (e.g., Coursera, Pluralsight, Udemy)
- Develop learning paths for different roles (e.g., DevOps, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Development)
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and report metrics to leadership
- Stay current with tech trends to align training content with industry standards
- Promote learning initiatives through internal communications, newsletters, or events
- Support onboarding for new IT employees with role-specific training and tools
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Information Technology, or related field
- 2–5+ years of experience in L&D, training, or instructional design, preferably in a tech or IT-focused environment
- Strong understanding of IT roles, technologies, and industry certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Scrum, CompTIA)
- Experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, SAP SuccessFactors, TalentLMS)
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to measure training impact and ROI
Preferred Qualifications:
- Instructional design certification (e.g., CPTD, ATD, or similar)
- Experience with e-learning development tools (Articulate, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
- Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and cloud-based tech environments
- Experience working with distributed teams or in a global setting
