Job Description

The HR Generalist is responsible for managing day-to-day human resources operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting the organization in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance with labor laws. This role is essential in fostering a positive work environment and enhancing employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist in the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating hiring processes.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and explain company policies, culture, and benefits.

2. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and support.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding company policies, benefits, and workplace issues.
  • Assist in conflict resolution and disciplinary actions while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including team-building activities and wellness programs.

3. HR Compliance & Policies

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Maintain and update employee records in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

4. Benefits & Compensation Administration

  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and questions.
  • Coordinate with benefits providers to ensure smooth administration of health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
  • Support payroll processes by verifying employee data and timekeeping records.

5. Performance Management & Training

  • Support the performance appraisal process and assist managers in goal-setting discussions.
  • Identify training and development needs and coordinate training programs.
  • Maintain training records and assist in career development initiatives.

6. HR Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate HR records, including employee files and HRIS data.
  • Prepare HR-related reports and analytics as needed.
  • Assist with audits and ensure proper documentation is maintained.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in an HR role, preferably as an HR Generalist.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems).
  • Familiarity with payroll and benefits administration.

Work Environment

  • Office-based with occasional travel for recruitment events or training sessions.
  • Hybrid work options may be available, depending on company policies.
