The Collection Executive is responsible for managing the timely collection of outstanding payments from clients or customers. The role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to ensure debts are paid on time while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact customers via phone, email, or letters to remind them of outstanding invoices.
- Negotiate payment plans and resolve billing disputes in a professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all collection efforts and customer interactions.
- Generate regular reports on collection status and aging accounts.
- Follow up with clients according to the collection cycle and company policy.
- Coordinate with the sales and finance teams to resolve discrepancies or customer concerns.
- Escalate uncollectible accounts to management or legal as required.
- Meet or exceed monthly collection targets and KPIs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a similar role.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of accounting and billing procedures.
- Familiarity with collection techniques and legal regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
