Role Description
As a Business Development Intern, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging with companies looking for fundraising and exit opportunities. Your role will involve conducting thorough research, generating leads, and building relationships with potential clients through various platforms. This internship offers hands-on exposure to investment banking and corporate finance, providing a strong foundation for future career growth in financial advisory and business development.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching and identifying potential companies seeking capital raising or exit strategies across industries.
- Utilizing various platforms (LinkedIn, databases, industry reports, etc.) to source leads and market intelligence.
- Assisting in the development of pitch decks, company profiles, and other marketing materials.
- Engaging with startup founders, investors, and corporate executives to generate business opportunities.
- Supporting deal origination efforts by coordinating outreach and follow-ups with prospective clients.
- Collaborating with internal teams to align business development efforts with financial advisory strategies.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory updates, and M&A market developments.
Required Skills
Must-have skills:
- Strong research and analytical skills to identify market opportunities.
- Proficiency in using LinkedIn, Crunchbase, Tracxn, and other research platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client engagement.
- Basic understanding of financial concepts, M&A, and capital raising processes.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good-to-have skills:
- Experience in lead generation, cold outreach, or business development.
- Familiarity with investment banking, venture capital, or private equity sectors.
- Knowledge of CRM tools and data visualization for market research.
Eligibility Criteria
- 0-3 years of prior experience in business development, investment banking, consulting, or market research.
- Demonstrated ability to source leads and engage with decision-makers.
- Interest in financial advisory, M&A, and capital markets.
- Experience in a multinational or high-growth startup environment is a plus.
