The Senior Workday Integration Lead is a pivotal role responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the integration of Workday with various enterprise systems. This position requires a deep technical understanding of Workdays integration tools, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow and process automation across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Integration Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute the integration strategy for Workday, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and scalability. Lead integration discovery sessions to identify system integration requirements for all HCM releases.
- Integration Design & Development: Design, develop, and maintain Workday integrations using best practices and industry standards. Lead the design and delivery of integration solutions, ensuring alignment with Workday’s best practices and organizational needs.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with HR, IT, and external vendors to define integration requirements and develop scalable solutions for critical business processes, such as payroll, benefits, and finance. Act as the primary liaison between HR, IT, and external integration partners, ensuring alignment on integration priorities and timelines.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide strategic and technical leadership for the integration implementation, configuration, and optimization of all Workday Payroll and non-payroll integrations. Manage and mentor a team of Workday technical specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Identify test scenarios, prepare test cases, and execute test plans to ensure quality deliverables. Thoroughly test integrations through unit testing and UAT, creating/executing appropriate test scripts, coordinating testing resources, and documenting edge cases.
- Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor integration performance through operational dashboards and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks. Analyze the current integration landscape to identify and address technical debt as it relates to functionality, performance, error handling, and scalability.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of integration activities, including design specifications, testing results, and performance metrics. Provide weekly status updates to leadership and manage the integration development plan as well as the RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in HR technology integrations, preferably with Workday or similar ERP systems.
- Proven experience managing complex integration projects in global organizations.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Workday integration tools, including Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, and Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP APIs).
- Familiarity with middleware solutions (e.g., Dell Boomi, SnapLogic) and programming languages like XML, XSLT, etc.
- Comprehensive understanding of HR functional areas (HCM, Payroll, Benefits, etc.) and associated data models.
- Experience with global data governance, security frameworks, and compliance standards.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives and balance competing priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
