The Procurement Engineer – Civil is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services related to civil engineering projects. The role ensures timely delivery of high-quality construction materials, adherence to budget constraints, and compliance with relevant standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Material Sourcing & Vendor Management:
• Identify and qualify suppliers of civil construction materials (e.g., concrete, rebar, aggregates, formwork, scaffolding).
• Solicit and evaluate quotations, negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness.
• Procurement Planning:
• Collaborate with project and engineering teams to forecast material needs based on construction schedules.
• Develop procurement strategies and timelines aligned with project milestones.
• Contract Management:
• Draft and review purchase orders, contracts, and agreements ensuring legal and technical compliance.
• Manage contract administration and monitor supplier performance.
• Cost & Quality Control:
• Ensure procurement is within budget and meets the required technical specifications and quality standards.
• Work with QA/QC and site teams to address non-conformances or material issues.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and logs.
• Provide regular updates on procurement status to project stakeholders.
• Compliance & Risk Management:
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and safety standards.
• Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including delays and supplier defaults.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in procurement within the construction or infrastructure sector.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, standards, and suppliers.
• Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and local procurement laws (as applicable).
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
