As a Localization Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing, automating, and optimizing the localization process for multilingual content. You will work closely with project managers, translators, and developers to ensure that software, websites, and digital products are adapted efficiently and accurately for global markets. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail in handling localization tools, file formats, and automation workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze files for localization, ensuring compatibility with translation tools (CAT tools, TMS, etc.).
• Automate and optimize localization workflows to improve efficiency.
• Work with different file formats (e.g., XML, JSON, HTML, PO, RESX) to ensure seamless localization.
• Troubleshoot encoding issues, text expansion, and other localization-related challenges.
• Develop and maintain localization scripts, tools, and automation processes using programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or Bash).
• Collaborate with developers to implement localization best practices in software applications and websites.
• Conduct quality assurance (QA) testing for localized products, ensuring linguistic and functional accuracy.
• Manage integration between translation management systems (TMS) and content management systems (CMS).
• Support translators and project managers with technical issues related to file preparation, tags, and segmentation.
• Stay updated on industry trends, localization technologies, and best practices.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Localization, Linguistics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum [X] years in localization engineering, software development, or related fields.
• Technical Skills:Proficiency in localization tools such as SDL Trados, memoQ, Smartling, or XTM.
• Experience with programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash, or Perl).
• Knowledge of regular expressions and automation scripts for handling text processing.
• Familiarity with software development and localization best practices (e.g., Unicode, i18n, L10n).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for handling localization challenges.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to detect and resolve formatting, encoding, and linguistic issues.
• Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate with developers, linguists, and project managers effectively.
