The Junior Team Member – Microbiology plays a supporting role in performing routine microbiological testing and analysis. The position involves sample preparation, culture work, documentation, and ensuring all lab procedures meet quality and safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or entry-level professional to build foundational skills in a lab environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, finished products, water samples, and environmental swabs.
• Prepare culture media, reagents, and samples for testing.
• Conduct aseptic techniques and microbiological assays such as plate counts, gram staining, endotoxin testing, and microbial limit tests.
• Maintain accurate and complete records in laboratory notebooks and/or electronic systems.
• Assist in calibration, maintenance, and cleaning of lab instruments and equipment.
• Comply with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safety guidelines.
• Participate in routine lab housekeeping and inventory management.
• Support senior team members with validations, method development, and documentation.
• Report abnormalities or test deviations promptly to the supervisor or QA personnel.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of microbiological techniques and laboratory safety.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work under supervision.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with lab instruments such as autoclaves, incubators, and microscopes.
• Exposure to GMP/GLP environments (through internship or coursework).
• Knowledge of data entry and basic lab software.
