Job Summary

An Electrician is a skilled tradesperson responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. They interpret technical drawings, ensure systems are safe and code-compliant, and troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, circuits, fixtures, control systems, panels, and equipment in line with safety standards and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to plan and execute electrical installations accurately.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems—such as power outages, faults, and voltage issues—and perform corrective action.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and electrical testing using appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Ensure all work adheres to electrical codes and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, OSHA).
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other tradespeople to coordinate installations and repairs.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including work orders, maintenance logs, material usage, and inspection reports.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an electrician apprenticeship or vocational training/trade school preferred.
• Valid electrician license (e.g., journeyman or master), as mandated by local regulations.

Technical Competencies

• Strong understanding of wiring, circuitry, electrical theory, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency with electrical tools (e.g., multimeters, voltage testers, wire strippers) and adherence to safe tool usage.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation accurately.
