Role & responsibilities
Assist for smooth functioning of the department and liaise with Neurologist, Neuro Surgeon, all grades of medical, nursing, allied health and other supportive staffs in the hospital and should have the ability to perform EEG, NCV, EMG with reporting and VEEG discharge summary and report.
• Perform pre-test consultations and prepare patients for testing.
• Take patients medical history.
• Explain procedures to the patient.
• Apply electrodes to a patients scalp, connected to the EEG machine by wires.
• Observe, measure and record the electrical activity and brain wave patterns by using an encephalograph.
• Monitor patients during sleep cycles to diagnose sleep disorders.
• Checking impedances and perform applicable procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Report test results to the physician who requested the test(s).
• Ensure all the procedures are performed according to the guidelines.
• Ensure high quality service, monitor standards for patient care, technical performance and reporting.
• Update and manage statistical analysis of Neurophysiology lab data.
• Assist stock control system & liaise necessary to ensure the efficient use of resources.
• Own responsibility for recording equipment break-down and coordinating with biomedical services for repair
• Provide psychological support to the patient and relatives.
Preferred candidate profile
• Desired Qualification : Diploma / Degree in EEG
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
