The Deputy Manager / Senior Engineer is responsible for overseeing engineering projects, ensuring technical excellence, and leading a team of engineers to drive efficiency and innovation. This role requires a strong background in engineering principles, project management, and team leadership to optimize operations and contribute to organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering & Technical Leadership
- Lead and execute engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team.
- Analyze complex engineering problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices.
2. Project Management & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor engineering projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance.
3. Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, fostering skill development and growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Promote teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement.
4. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Utilize lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to optimize workflows.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and safety.
5. Compliance & Safety Management
- Ensure that all engineering activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain safety and quality compliance.
- Implement corrective actions to address non-compliance issues.
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare technical reports, project updates, and performance metrics.
- Maintain detailed engineering documentation for future reference.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related field).
- Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience in an engineering role, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
- Expertise in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience in automation, robotics, or digital transformation projects.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and industry-specific software tools.
