Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Customer Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet customer quality expectations and requirements. You will work closely with customers, internal teams, and suppliers to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and ensure the highest standards of product quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, addressing and resolving any issues related to product quality and performance.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure that products meet both customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead root cause investigations for customer complaints and non-conformance issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to determine and implement corrective actions.
  • Product Testing & Inspections: Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure products undergo proper testing and inspection before delivery to customers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in quality control, working with internal teams and suppliers to drive quality enhancements.
  • Customer Feedback Analysis: Collect and analyze customer feedback, including complaints, returns, and surveys, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Quality Documentation: Maintain and review quality records, ensuring that product specifications, testing, inspection reports, and customer feedback are properly documented.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Work with suppliers to ensure that their products and processes meet the company’s quality standards. Participate in supplier audits and assist in resolving quality issues.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all products and processes comply with industry standards, regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Training & Support: Provide training to internal teams and suppliers on quality standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular quality reports for management and customers, detailing product performance, quality trends, and improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience: [X] years of experience in quality engineering, customer quality management, or a similar role, preferably in [industry, e.g., automotive, manufacturing, electronics].
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9001).
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and problem-solving tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Pareto Analysis).
  • Experience with product testing, inspections, and validation processes.
  • Familiarity with quality tools and software (e.g., Minitab, SAP, ERP systems).
  • Customer Focus: Strong customer service orientation with the ability to address customer concerns effectively and efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex quality issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills, with a proven track record of identifying issues and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that quality standards are consistently met.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and customers to resolve quality issues and improve processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, CQE, or equivalent).
  • Experience in customer-facing roles or working directly with customers on quality-related matters.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., automotive, medical device, or aerospace).
  • Knowledge of advanced quality techniques, such as statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and process mapping.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits, customer meetings, or supplier audits.
