We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Consultant Biochemist to join our clinical laboratory on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing biochemical testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results, advising clinical teams, and supporting the development of diagnostic and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and validate complex biochemical test results.
• Provide expert advice to clinicians regarding appropriate biochemical investigations and result interpretation.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance, regulatory standards, and health and safety policies.
• Supervise and support laboratory staff in biochemical testing procedures.
• Contribute to the development and review of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Assist with audit processes and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in the selection and evaluation of new equipment, tests, and technologies.
• Provide training and continuing education for laboratory and medical staff.
• Engage in clinical governance, including case reviews and incident investigations where needed.

Qualifications:

• MBBS with MD in Biochemistry or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
• Board-certified or registered with the appropriate medical/clinical council.
• Minimum [X] years of experience in clinical biochemistry, preferably in a hospital or diagnostic lab setting.
