The AGM – Business Development is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market reach, and forging strategic partnerships. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, leading sales initiatives, and ensuring the companys competitive edge in the industry. The AGM will work closely with senior leadership to set and achieve business expansion goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Growth & Strategy:
- Develop and implement business development strategies to drive revenue and market share growth.
- Identify and pursue new markets, clients, and project opportunities in line with company goals.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and feasibility studies to assess business potential.
2. Sales & Client Acquisition:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Lead sales pitches, presentations, and negotiations to secure high-value contracts.
- Manage the complete sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure.
3. Partnership & Vendor Management:
- Establish and manage strategic alliances with vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners.
- Negotiate agreements that are beneficial for both the company and its clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of business deals.
4. Revenue & Profitability Management:
- Set sales targets and ensure they are met within timelines.
- Develop pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
- Monitor project pipelines and business forecasts to assess financial impact.
5. Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead and mentor the business development and sales teams.
- Work closely with marketing, finance, and operations teams to align strategies.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance the teams business development skills.
6. Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and present business performance reports and sales forecasts to senior management.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development (Preferred).
- B.E./B.Tech (For candidates from Engineering/Construction/Infrastructure sectors).
Experience:
- 10-18 years of experience in business development, sales, or corporate strategy.
Technical & Industry Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of B2B sales, project bidding, and contract negotiation.
- Experience in sectors like Construction, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, or IT Services.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, sales analytics, and market intelligence platforms.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
